I'm a frequent solo traveler. I have no patience to wait around for people to get their ish together to join me for a trip. If I want to go, I'm going to go. There are pros and cons to that, of course. Taking a million selfies or having to ask passersby to take your photo, not having anyone to share those experiences with, and it's more expensive because you're not splitting the bill with anyone. But the pros...quiet reflection time, my own space, not having to compromise on activities, where to eat, etc. Oh man, I did a group trip once that drove me crazy. When I wanted to go to a destination, everyone else tried to vote in on it and work it into the day's schedule. Like no, this isn't a vote; I'm going with or without you. Lol. I find that I learn so much about myself every time I travel alone. I think the first time I traveled by myself was when I was 17, but my first big solo trip was at 25 when I went to Hawaii. I've cosigned solo travel ever since. Of course my mom is always deathly afraid because I'm small, and people tend to think I'm a child (I did actually have one startling experience in Italy), but overall it has been great. And really, I know how to handle myself! What are your experiences? And why would you or wouldn't you travel solo?
